Department of Homeland Security Undersecretary for Management Paul A. Schneider recently announced the Coast Guard will be working closely with its sister sea service to “identify best practices, common systems, technologies, and processes for improved interoperability.” This announcement followed much-publicized costly acquisition challenges the Coast Guard has experienced within its Deepwater Program, some of which were covered recently by CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
